Kefta Mkaouara (Moroccan Meatballs in Tomato Sauce) Recipe ~

Ingredients:
For the kefta (meatballs):
– 500 g ground beef or lamb
– 1 small onion, grated
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 tsp paprika
– 1 tsp cumin
– ½ tsp black pepper
– ½ tsp salt
– 2 tbsp chopped parsley or cilantro

For the tomato sauce:
– 2 tbsp olive oil
– 3 tomatoes, grated (or 1 cup crushed tomatoes)
– 1 tsp paprika
– ½ tsp cumin
– ½ tsp chili powder (optional)
– Salt to taste

    3. Add the meatballs: Place kefta into the sauce. Cover and cook on low for 15–20 minutes until cooked through.
    4. Optional (street-style touch): Crack 1–2 eggs on top, cover, and let them gently cook in the sauce.
    5. Serve hot with Moroccan bread (khobz).
