Tiella Trattoria and Bar will take over the venue in Columbia Road, Bethnal Green, in mid-January.
It follows a celebrated kitchen residency at The Compton Arms in Islington, which closed exactly a year ago to be taken on by another pop-up, Rake.
But Klein has promised that old favourites from the residency – including her Mamma’s recipe for meatballs – will make it onto the new menu, along with some new dishes.
She has previously sharpened her cooking skills at Brawn, Trullo and Sager & Wilde and her rustic dishes are influenced by a childhood spent in Emilia Romagna and New Zealand.
Tiella was originally a Victorian boozer called The Globe but in recent years has operated as The Stingray Globe cafe and pizza restaurant, and Mexican restaurant Cheeky Chicos.
For her modern London trattoria, Klein has peeled back layers of decor to uncover bricks, tiles and wood features from the original building, while adding vintage touches and mementoes from her family’s Italian restaurant.
She will be serving up British-Italian dishes from the open kitchen including delica pumpkin, radicchio agrodolce and taleggio fonduta, orecchiette with cime di rapa and pangrattato, chicken Milanese with green apple, celery, fennel, creme fraiche and fresh herbs, and bay leaf panna cotta with blood orange.
A terrace will come into its own in the summer months and the drink offer will include beers on tap – including Guinness – and Italian wines.

Posting on Instagram Klein said she was “building my dream place with my childhood family friend Ry Jessup.”
“Every little bit of heart and soul is going into this trattoria. Funnelling all my most cherished childhood memories into the space,” she added.
When she closed her Compton Arms residency in December 2024, Klein vowed to focus on finding a permanent home for her concept and said: “Tiella has been a fabulous, wild ride and I’m so thankful to The Compton Arms for taking a chance on my little Italian kitchen. Cooking my own take on regional Italian food in such a beautiful pub has brought me so much joy, and now I’m ready for the next chapter.”
