Straight from the tin for maximum impact. I don’t muck them up or dumb them down with rice, pasta and what not. Straight up.

  2. Can-DontAttitude

From the can, over the kitchen sink

  3. world-class-cheese

Usually with rice and nori, or as a sandwich

  4. ResplendentShade

My preference is to have fresh bread, sliced somewhat thin and toasted, and put em on that.

But the most common thing I eat them with is those flipside crackers, which may or may not be the crackers in your photo.

On some sort of decent bread. Sometimes a dab of cholula hot sauce.

Depends on the fish, what I have on hand, how much time I have to pull a meal together, and what I’m in the mood for. 🙂

With kimchi. Eat both with chopsticks

  8. Straight out the tin with my bear ass hands for maximum aroma endurance

Over rice. Sometimes with a runny egg if I need more protein.

Or, smashed over toast with some sort of mayo based sauce. Sometimes will add slices of onion.

Over rice or another grain, with veggies sauteed in the tin oil. Sometimes with a fried egg, avocado, or hot sauce on top.

Or with a salad dressed with the tin oil (sometimes a green salad, sometimes a cucumber or cucumber/tomato salad).

On crostini with a light smear of cream cheese, cracked pepper, and parsley.

This looks like a ai photo of the ideal r/cannedsardines dinner.

  13. EsdeeEspee

Depends on the tin, but generally on wasa crispbread with tillamook honey jalapeño cream cheese and pickled onions, maybe a Kalamata olive if I’m craving more salt

    Mashed up with an avocado.

Spread on toasted whole grain wheat bread.

    Sprinkled with kosher salt.

    Dash of lemon juice.

If I have them, topped with some pickled red onion.

I could eat that for every meal

Those look like Tiny Tots! A favorite

  16. not-my-first-rode0

Sautéed lightly with onions, a teensy bit of salt and lemon

I’m a simple fellow, so either with white rice and a sprinkle of pepper or on toast with butter. Doesn’t have to be fancy y’all (plus, it’s January and I have no money).

  18. TwistyTwister3

Mashed up into avacado mayo, Pickled anything, kimchi, avocado, cherry tomatoes, pita chips.

  19. Smeared on toasted sourdough with pickled veggies and sometimes butter, mayo and/or hot sauce

  20. Coffee_And_NaNa

With chili oil, capers and on butter crackers 😛
