IMO forget the ceramic plate setter and get the cast iron version. They are indestructible. I got mine from the start and it works perfect, is cheaper than this ceramic one and will never ever crack like this.

Gorilla glue could work. I used it for one of the “legs” at least 10 years ago. It’s held up since, but doesn’t get direct heat.

JB Weld? Rock that shit forever.

JB high heat weld

Nothing a bunch of money can’t fix.

Replaced it, I would not put glue on something my food is going to cook in

When my plate setter broke, I took some thick-gauge bare copper wire and an appropriately sized masonry drill bit. I drilled some holes on both sides and “stitched” them together with the wire

If it’s in 2 solid pieces, I’d just use it the way it is. The crack is not going to completely negate the intended effect. When you can, buy a replacement from eBay at a discount, or find a knock off on Amazon with decent reviews.

It’ll probably be covered under warranty. Check with your retailer. My firebox liner broke and they replaced it for free.

Yes, you go to ACE and they have brand new ones for you.

Toss it and buy a new one

I went down this road last year. If it’s less than a year old, you might have some luck with warranty. Otherwise, you need to buy a new one. I don’t know anyone who’s tried the non-ceramic ones, but I may try one if and when I break my current one.

Forget the placesetter altogether. Go online to the Ceramic Grill Store and buy yourself a nice set of racks and stones that will actually last longer and give you multiple cook options. I love their adjustable rack and spider with a few various size full or half stones.

Time to replace. Looks like you took care of it sine only the stubs are charcoaled. I may get murdered on this sub but there are off brands that are actually really nice and thicker. Sorry for your loss.

I bought an Eggspander for mine. Really useful upgrade, and the plate setter pieces just sit happily on it. My break was just near the leg.
StayPuftPanda
Just keep using it as is. If they balance okay and fit together well save the money. They offer half moon ceramic plates to do indirect and direct at the same time. You just made your own version.

Not trying to pick a fight… kamado joe deflector plates are very durable unless dropped. For the cost of replacing the plate setter, why not get the xring and 2 KJ deflectors.

They replaced mine under warranty.

Buy a Weber 17” grill grate and put that underneath the ceramic setter

Warranty claim it if you can.

[Furnace cement like this.](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LH6YPBM?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share). It was recommended to me by someone here. I only had a leg on my plate setter break, but it’s worked for one cook so far.
But a new one
