When dropped into place, the body of the egg rests on these bolt heads. Basically on the very outer edge of the bottom ceramic. Is this how everyone's rests in the carrier? Seems like it will be prone to damage. Bad design IMO

I have a large BGE but used silicone self bonding “F4” tape to make rubber pads where metal would rest on ceramic on my cradle. Supposedly good up to 500°.

Yes, unfortunately it does rest on those bolts. Never had an issue with it causing any damage to the MM base and ours travels quite a lot. Some people have put high temp silicon over those bolts, but I never have.
