I'm too lazy to cook/prepare myself a decent meal every day so I usually just get a combo of a daily Meal Deal for €5 from local Cafe ( Main Dish + Soup or Dessert).
I don't usually eat breakfast so this is Breakfast+Lunch for me sorted.

I make myself a sandwich every day for work. It’s one of the easiest ways to save money. A lot of colleagues think I’m a bit frugal, but I show them how much $5 a day on food adds up each month. And then per year.
I get that you don’t always feel like making sandwiches in the morning. I don’t either. Most of the time, I prepare my sandwich the night before.
I live in the Netherlands, Europe, and a large whole grain bread here costs about 2 dollars and 5 cents. The toppings vary quite a bit depending on what’s available.

today was split pea soup (with veggies blended in) and bread + orange. roughly (30 cents for the peas, and around 15 cents of veggies: onion carrot and pumpkin), buckwheat flatbread (around 12 cents) , the orange is free from the tree. so rough estimate 57 cents today!

For 5 pounds I’d be eating all that everyday too.

Way too much.
I eat Jimmy Dean breakfast bowls (I know, really healthy, but they’re cheapish and I don’t mind them). Lunch is usually leftovers, otherwise I eat out and spend too much…I don’t normally look for deals, but if the UK is anything like the US, $5/£5 is a really good deal, especially for that much food.

czechia, i cook twice or three times per week, as a family of two we spend around 300$ on food.
