Pastaria Nashville — a pasta-focused restaurant that opened about nine years ago with a bit of fanfare during the nascent days of mixed-use development One City — has closed.

Having begun operations in 2017 and with an address of 8 City Blvd., Pastaria Nashville served house-made pastas, wood-fired pizzas and rustic Italian comfort food (read more here and here from Post sister publication Nashville Scene).

The restaurant business seemingly closed Dec. 30.

The reason for St. Louis-based Niche Food Group, Pastaria owner and operator, closing the restaurant is unclear. Company officials could not be reached for comment, but a source confirmed the closing.

Gerard Craft, winner of the Best Chef-Midwest at the 2015 James Beard Awards, founded Niche Food Group. His company operates multiple restaurants in St. Louis.

Craft emailed the following to the Scene:

“It’s been an honor being a part of the Nashville restaurant community. I have met so many amazing people from our regulars, chefs and other restaurateurs that I will hopefully always stay in touch with.”

One City is home to Aloha Fish Co., Avo, E + Rose Wellness Cafe and Bodega and Sump Coffee, among other food and beverage businesses.
