I’ve been trying to get these for ages. They’re made in very limited runs. They’re obscenely expensive. I paid $40 but they changed it to $44 minutes later.

Turns out they’re fantastic. If you’ve had belly it like that but more so. Very fatty but in a marbled way not in a chunk of fat way. If their normal tin is like prime beef and the belly is like American Wagyu this is like Japanese A5. Very moist, rich, tender as it can be without being mushy.

Is it worth $44? Highly personal but I’m really glad I got to try it. Obviously try to get the white king belly first – it’s half the price and also amazing.

I still can’t wrap my brain around the idea of a fish having cheeks haha. But I’ve been so curious about this as well since I’ve heard about Halibut cheeks, which apparently are also amazing and similar to a scallop? I wonder what other tinned fish cheeks you can get.

I wanted to try these but they sell out almost instantly ☹️

I’ve never had them tinned but cod cheeks are one of my favourite starters I’ve ever had, shame they are hard to find

Interesting! This is my first time of hearing abt this kind of tinned fish… part?!😂 That’s pretty cool!

Bro clappin cheeks, while I’m over here eating Brunswick kippers from the dollar tree

  6. The third pic gave me a chuckle because for a moment I was like “Oh no, did Op Get shipped an empty box?” Then I realized I’m a fool 😀

My god, I need this, but $44 dollars a can ain’t happening.

Wow, you scored one! I’m kinda hoping I never get a chance, because then I won’t have to have the stern discussion with myself about spending $44 on a can! 😅

  9. I love fish cheeks, they are very highly prized in Chinese cooking. Separate note, I read the packaging as, “packed on Greg and Phyllis” lol

Fish cheeks are so good and undervalued. I have a fish monger near me that does grouper cheeks and it’s like 4$ a pound which is nuts, especially because it’s all locally caught. They make the best fish tacos

Oh my. I’ve had walleye cheeks – so good.

Makes sense there would be salmon cheeks. Does it still have the oyster texture?

I really want to try these, but at $44 a tin plus the international shipping required it’s probably not going to happen 😭 But I will file this away in my brain, because it might happen someday lol!

I wish they were cheap and sold near me

I’m thought this was a gag from The Office at first. Canned fish cheeks are completely new to me haha

My local Japanese restaurant does salmon heads as an appetizer, love eating the cheeks! Didn’t know you could get a whole can of them

For a second I thought the packaging was inferring they were hand packed by a time traveling duo

I have no idea how I landed on this sub about a week or so ago, but I am enjoying being part of it.
