Had a truffle risotto served in an egg at a Michelin star restaurant in Tokyo recently.

I say it’s plate enough

Apart from that one ?scratch? on the right side it seems like nothing stops this from being cleaned properly. also it 100% is a bowl with uneven edges. This falls under proper tableware to me.

That must be so annoying to eat from with a spoon. A spoon needs to be horizontal to keep from spilling its contents, so you’d have to tilt the egg to the side to spoon stuff out of it.

This reminds me of /r/stupiddovenests.

I mean… It’s unusual but it’s an egg shaped bowl. I think it looks kind of cool. Maybe not the most practical but, if you’re going to this kind of restaurant.

This is just a bowl.
Its a Michelin Star restaurant. Presentation is part of the experience.
Has no right in this sub. It should be cringe worthy and a terrible way to serve food for one reason or another. Looks like you had an amazing meal. A bit jealous.
