If you squeeze the date the pit will come out. I make mine with water chestnut and bacon. Then into a soy sauce and bbq and brown sugar. You'll be lucky to even get one they go so fast
I like dates stuffed with cream cheese. My sister in law got me started on them. She had made them for an appetizer for dinner one time and I had never had them and they were delicious and now I make them for a snack some times.
In my family, we make something called a little Smokies. I’m sure that that’s not just my family thing. I’m sure other people eat them, but you do basically the same thing but you don’t put the cheese. You just put some of those little sausage things wrap them and bacon put them with brown sugar and a couple other things. I can’t remember you bake them in. Those are amazing.

I've made these before with a sliver of pecan inside instead of cheese, then wrapped in bacon and broiled. They're amazing.
