So she asked me after telling her father she wanted new kitchen appliances/pots and pans “what pans do we want??”.
She sent me a link of the pans her dad said he was looking to buy and I opened up a huge set of HexClad and almost vomited at the price of them.
After doing tons of research I made a list of a 5 piece Made-In set, a Matfer carbon steel pan (don’t roast the seasoning pls), and ONE Made-In ceramic enamel coated stainless pan so my girlfriend wouldn’t feel afraid of cooking with the other pans.
He bought us all of these other than the Dutch oven which was a gift from my gf (nearly cried).
Finally got them out of their boxes for first wash and organization. Sorry if flair is incorrect or something is breaking rules <3 hope everyone had a great holiday season!

Moving on up 👨🍳, I have the sautee pan in the middle it’s been beaten up and still looks brand new, pan seared halibut almost weekly on that bad boy.
Even Snookums approves!
Man, you are one lucky dude!
I have had the same stainless steel set for 20 years now, and while it’s not the same quality as Made-In, the flexibility and durability of stainless is wonderful. A great Christmas present, indeed!
I asked my husband for a Henckle pot and pan set. He told me he wasn’t going to get me cooking tools for Christmas. So he got me the pot and pan set a week before Christmas and told me he’s getting me a tattoo for Christmas.
Insert congrats nice im happy for you meme here.
These will make you happy for a very, very long time.
Kitty approves. All else is secondary.
Thats a baller ass gift(s)
Great gift suggestion!! How do you like to store them? I get overwhelmed about pan storage in my small apartment 😂
That one pan kind of looks like a chubby calico cat
Your cat being on the table is absolutely disgusting.
I have a ceramic pan like that…… I freaking love it! I’m sure you will love yours too!
What do you think the price tag is on all this?
Pots and pans. Plots and plans
This is exactly why I’ve learned never to ask for kitchen tools as gifts without providing an exact product I want.
My mom just recently asked me for advice to replace her nonstick pans. After discussing it and sending her tons of links to good brands, she ignored all of it and got Hexclad. 🤦♀️
Why is one blackened?
This made me a little weepy, as I remember 40 years ago my soon to be husband and I asked for a fancy pants (to us) Cuisinart pot. We were shocked to get the starter set instead; neither of us knew how to cook, so it became our hobby to source and learn new dishes and techniques every weekend. (Twas pre-Internet and we had to buy cookbooks and find international groceries.)
I lost him to leukemia after a short decade, but it is like having my husband back in the house when I pull a pan out to make an omelet or a pot to mix his old fashioned white sauce. Enjoy the fabulous times you will have making meals to share!!!
I have two matfer bourgeat carbon steel frying pans and they do 90% of my cooking. They’re terrific.
This isn’t some sort of guerrilla marketing for made-in is it? If it isn’t, OP so happy for you, if it is some sad marketing hustle – fuck you
Word of warning from a fellow chef. And I can’t stress this enough.. Be EXTREMELY careful with storing, using and washing the made-in ceramic coated pans.
I am a career chef and my wife is a career restaurant manager we buy quality products and handle them with care.
Every one of my ceramic pans chipped within a couple weeks of use. The coating is nice but extremely brittle. I still dont exactly know what caused the wear or when they got chipped but I was very disappointed with myself for letting our new pans get fucked up so fast. We took care to not use metal utensils and if we did we were very gentle. I love the full stainless but will never buy ceramic coated again.
Have since bought a set of all-clad HA1 nonstick and couldn’t be happier.
Beautiful pans! Best of luck and happy cooking!
Look after them, they’re not _just_ for Christmas.
kittyyyyy
When I was in grade 5 my ‘girlfriend’ gave me a dutch oven and I nearly cried too.
The saucier is a god-tier pan
Let us know when you finally throw that green pan in the trash

Cat shit on cooking surfaces.
Was it the cat?
What does this have to do with working in a professional kitchen.
I’m confused as to what this is doing here in this sub.
Im here for the good dog in the background.
Nice
What a lovely gift, and a cute cat too. Happy holidays!
Every collection needs a high carbon steel pan, it’s the dark one right there.
Matfer brand os quality on Amazon professional cookware will outlast you and your heir.
It looks like you cook a lot with the Matfer so under rated in the US (home) it’s my favorite pan in my collection as well, …says a chef of 43 years.
That’s so amazing 🤩
I’ve been wondering if the Made-in stuff is worth investing in.
But my wife did give me a Lê Crueset skillet for my birthday last year. It’s one of my favourite things ever
A cat? You asked for a cat?!
