SHEBOYGAN COUNTY – Cold and snowy weather has settled in for the season, and that means it’s time to warm up with a cup of hearty soup or macaroni and cheese next to a fireplace.

Though Sheboygan County is full of restaurants ideal for riverfront and outdoor dining in the summer, there are ample options for comfort meals like ramen, meatloaf and supper club dishes perfect for enjoying in winter.

Here are 15 Sheboygan-area restaurants that offer cozy dining environments and comforting meals.

Enjoy “finer dining” with steaks, fish and small plates at the Strip Steak House, W2873 County Road C in Sheboygan Falls. Comfort food dishes include red wine braised beef short rib, rigatoni Bolognese, beef pot roast stroganoff, and pork shank. Wood flooring, a fireplace and wrought iron lighting creates a rustic feel, too.

Cozy up in the woodsy ambiance at the Log Cabin Inn, 633 Madison Ave. in Howards Grove, with all-day breakfast. In addition to Friday fish fry, guests can also enjoy broasted chicken, meatloaf and sirloin steak dinners, burgers and hot melts.

Warm up with specialty coffee drinks, like the Latte Cooper and the Vienna Voyage, at the Weather Center Cafe, 809 Riverfront Drive in Sheboygan, while also enjoying wintry sights on the Sheboygan River.

Find warm lighting and a rustic feel at the The Blind Horse, 6018 Superior Ave. in Kohler, while enjoying an array of wine, shared plates like goat cheese curds and fried chicken buns, and main dishes, including lobster ravioli and filet mignon.

Become immersed in the vintage atmosphere at Harry’s Pizza e Vino, 111 E. Rhine St. in Elkhart Lake, with its saloon bar and walls full of family photos and artwork. Guests can enjoy Roman-styled pizza from classics like prosciutto, truffle and hot sopressata to dessert Nutella and campfire pizzas.

The Black Pig, 821 N. Eighth St. in Sheboygan, offers twists on comfort dishes, like the Black Pig Truffle Mac and BBQ Pork Mac. The restaurant has lunch and dinner menus, featuring more dishes, like butternut squash bisque, braised Niman ranch lamb and vegetable stew, burgers and a pulled pork sandwich.

In addition to dinner, Bread and Bean Eatery, 107 Pine St. in Sheboygan Falls, is a perfect downtown lunch spot for a cup of soup or a sandwich. Visitors can opt for the bread boule (bowl) or a “Bump and a Cup,” a cup of the soup of the day and a half sandwich (chicken salad, BLT or egg salad) with chips.

Satisfy your craving for Italian cuisine at various Sheboygan restaurants, including Lino Ristorante Italiano, 422 S. Pier Drive; Trattoria Stefano, 522 S. Eighth St.; and Luigi’s Italian Restaurant, 2910 Kohler Memorial Drive.  

Several restaurants offer Asian noodle dishes in Sheboygan, including Tochi Ramen, 623 N. Eighth St.; Kame Ramen & Sushi Poke, 3827 Superior Ave.; and Nyob Zoo Cafe, 1119 Michigan Ave. Kame offers a handful of ramen dishes, like miso ramen, Tonkotsu ramen and seafood ramen, Nyob Zoo Cafe has offered an instant Ramen station and Thai Boat Noodles, kimchi jjigae (a kimchi stew) and curry as specials.

Enjoy authentic Mexican flavors and dishes at Mi Cocina Familia, 1423 Union Ave. in Sheboygan, like enchiladas, chilaquiles, fajitas, gorditas and chimichangas, too.

Check out the reopened Downtown 925 & The Pelican Room Bar & Lounge, formerly Rupp’s, 925 N. Eighth St. in Sheboygan, on Fridays and weekend days. Guests can enjoy live music, classic and crafted Old Fashioneds, and supper club entrees like steak, pan-seared North Atlantic salmon, and the herb-roasted chicken dinner. Fish Fry and Prime Rib dinners are available on Fridays and Saturdays, respectively.
