For context: The inner burr (slide 2) is supposed to be fixed into the middle of the grinder. The plastic supports (slide 3+4) seem to have ripped themselves apart.

What a TERRIBLE shame… I guess I have NO CHOICE but to upgrade my grinder now…

Good, now never buy another fellow product again. Overpriced junk.

Damn you must get all the rocks in your beans.

Rip grinder, but plastic… That’s an interesting design choice.

Buy a quality grinder this time, invest in one with as much metal around the burrs as you can afford.

I’m so glad I bought mine on sale because if I had paid full price, I’d be so angry with myself. It’s such a piece of shit.

  5. Mine is still doing well thankfully after 2 years

Doesn’t the Opus come with a 2 year warranty? You should be able to get this replaced

I had the opus for a week and then returned it. Total POS and made a mess everywhere. I found a df64v2 with ssp burrs locally, the difference is incredible.

This morning I put 18 grams in and got 9.8 grams out. What a joke, can’t wait to upgrade

Avoid baratza encore. I had similar issues with the burr holder, having to change it 3 times. Now it’s only used for french press.

Have you checked how long they offer a warranty for?
    It may be 24 months

Perfect excuse to get a stepless grinder that will improve your shots and workflow substantially.
