Hello! I'm currently running a project in which I cook dinners from every country – and for some countries I decided to split their cuisines into their more distinct regions, Japan being one of them!

I already did "general" Japan as a country for my project, so that's the pic for a point of reference. 🙂

Now I gotta start somewhere and I decided to get my Japanese cooking wings with Kanto and some classic Gyudon. These would be what I'm serving for the meal:

  • Gyudon
  • Veggie miso soup (aburaage/snap peas)
  • pickled cabbage
  • broccoli gomaae
  • simmered aburaage and spinach

I did try to research what would be working well but with all of these cuisines, I'm no expert so I'm really looking forward to your feedback! 🙂

Loveeee the simmered kabocha! Although, this looks more like a breakfast to me. Take that with a grain of salt tho because I am only an admirer of the Japanese cuisine and culture, not a local.

You don’t have “Umeboshi” with your meal.
I love to put “Umeboshi” in a rice bowl.
    And,some “Takuwan” is also fine.
    Thanks. Enjoy your time.

There is nothing really that screams Kantô in your menu. This would be for me a basic ichijû sansai Japanese menu.
