definitely not, even in my area where beef is stupid expensive.
you can also see its been mechanically tenderized (the little holes) and the marbling is poor.
I would pay that for top quality, dry aged beef. maybe.

Why would they blade tenderize a NY strip?!?
tjr22487
I’d buy it if I was desperate for steak but nothing to write home about. At that price I’d probably get the prime for 19.99.

Typical Costco price for a decent quality meat. Things are just more expensive these days
lhfitz76
I purchase when more marbled. Then good deal
ShankThatSnitch
Eh, not really.

It’s “multiple stabbed” low-end of the scale, Choice.
Costco can go fcuk themselves.
Euphoric_Dinner_8117
I wait for choice NY to be on sale at $6.99 at my local stores and they do it often. This would be doubly expensive compared to the local deals. You can also find a more marbled pack than the one pictured.
CeeUNTy
I can get much better deals at my local grocery store with a digital coupon sale. I love Costco but I don’t buy any meat there other than Italian sausage and rotisserie chicken.

Thanks everyone! I’ll skip
Quiet_Conclusion_911
Its an average deal.. it could be 19.99 or it could be 7.99..
No-Cap_Skibidi
The prime sirloin steaks are a better option than these.
ThelastRA
For a Costco steak, yeah. They’re really good.

Why ??? Why do people continue to post stuff then ask. “Is this a good deal” Really? You really can’t calculate the price per pound then compare what meat prices have been Please stop and figure it out yourself
GenericMaleNurse918
Costco steaks are delicious but I only buy prime beef.
whoo-datt
Not really. The whole top loin usda choice is $9.99/lb here.

a value pack at that size should be a good amount cheaper to be considered a “good deal”

Depends where you are. That price for choice is okay over in NYC.
Greysun8
Nah. Buy a Chuck Roast and make a Mississippi Pot Roast. Thank me later.
CalStateQuarantine
These days, it’s not a bad price. But I wouldn’t go calling it a good deal either. It’s about what I’d expect to pay for some choice strips at Costco.
Sasuke0318
Definitely not a good deal as I picked up angus tenderloin for $12.99/lb earlier this week.
baljake
Fair price in a major city.
HR_King
No, and I NEVER buy blade tenderized meat.

Not particularly but pretty standard so not bad.

It’s actually a good deal if regular price. A sale price will knock that down below $10
Helpful-Ocelot-1638
No, it’s not.
Ronw1993
You can usually get the roast for a few bucks per lb less, as long as you have the storage for a 10-14 lb buy. Also worth noting that the quality is usually consistent from there
GolfArgh
Why would you blade tenderize a choice grade strip steak?
Entropical-island
I started getting prime strips at Costco instead of ribeye. They’re pretty good and usually the same price as choice ribeye
