Yes, it happened, I'm a tired mama. I mixed the ingredients, kneaded the dough, added the butter, kneaded some more, let it rise… and nothing. I realized my mistake and added ADY with water to the dough. The dough was already pretty high hydration, so it was a wet mess. I waited hours doing stretch and folds every 30min until I got some kind of shaggy dough. I let it in the fridge overnight and it helped a lot too. The dough was still very difficult to shape because sticky and humid, but the final taste was absolutely amazing!

I did that a few weeks ago with some Portuguese rolls. They turned out better than any bread I’ve made lately. Yours are beautiful

Definitely satisfying “I want a piece of that loaf”

    Looks amazing!

My oops moments when baking are usually not heating up the water. Had multiple occasions where I’m kneading dough thinking “man, this feels kinda cold.”

I used some yeast that i assume was dead as it didnt rise, so did the same thing. Very forgiving situation because it was overnight foccacia dough and hydration wasnt really a concern since there was no real shaping involved. Turned out to be one of my best foccacias (that I will never be able to recreate haha).

    They look great.

But I am curious… wouldnt it have been faster and more efficicent to start over?
