They are losers who are jealous of your gigachad cabbage fabrication and organization. Don’t stop being you.

The phrase “to have ones cabbage in a row” comes from ancient eastern European agrarian cultures. Found today in a variety of slavic languages, it is a term acknowledging that a person makes excellent cabbage soups and stews.

    Example here in Polish:

He really has his cabbage in a row. No smoke is blown up his ass.

On naprawdę ma kapustę w garści. Nikt mu nie wciska kitu.

It’s hard to soar like an eagle when you’re surrounded by turkeys.

  12. How long did it take though? Maybe they are laughing because it takes you longer.

Listen I’ve been in the food service industry for 35 years. We’ve had this discussion many times in the kitchens I’ve worked in. In our line of work it seems we all have different degrees of OCD. Things need to be arranged a certain way. Work stations need to be in order…so I see nothing wrong with this. 👍🏼

I was prepping blanched asparagus once and had it stacked like a perfect pile of logs. My chef said “OCD”. I said if I was OCD I wouldn’t do this and scrambled the asparagus all over my cutting board. Doing what you’re doing is the way to do things when you’re professional and care. I learned a phrase on Reddit a few years ago. “Put a little give a shit into anything you do”. Even on a bad day, and we all have them, if you put a little give a shit into it, it will turn out better than the coworkers effing with you. I also say, “The better the start, the better the finish!” Professional mise en place is key to a better finish. I take my hat off to you!
