MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — It’s the middle of the South Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association’s restaurant week.

The 11-day event is designed to promote the state’s world-class dining.

Those at Shine 1229 in Myrtle Beach said they are thankful for the eyes this event brings to their restaurant.

“We’re kind of off the beaten path of market common. It’s an area that is not within the mix of all the other stores and restaurants,” said Dodd Smith, General Manager at Shine 1229. “So even the locals, I get a lot of, ‘hey, it’s our first time of us coming here.’ So it’s good exposure for us as a restaurant, especially with us being located where we are.”

South Carolina restaurant week runs from Jan. 8 to Jan. 18 and features establishments that range from casual to fine dining.
