Decided to fry a 16oz Ribeye as a country fried steak. Didn't need any sauce, just me and the steak for food therapy. It was a terrible day yesterday and this made it better at the end of night. Should have taken the before pictures, so I will have to make again soon.

No thanks!
At 1st instinct I want to get out the tar and feathers. However, you’re talking about making it again and the center looks great. Talk to me about the flavor. I need details man!!
Looks like it could be good, what did you think?
Why ruin a rib eye?
Ill try it. I think Ive had Weiner Schnitzel before , kinda the same .
I’ve always kind of wondered about doing these. So is it just the exact same process as breading chicken, but with steak? And how long does it fry for? I do like my steak rare but I don’t know if that’s possible with frying it. underdone batter wouldn’t be nice.
Sorry for the questions but it’s not something I’ve ever seen on a menu or recipe book here in the UK. We haven’t fully caught up on all the deep fried meats, it seems
I love this innovation. Keep experimenting with technique and this may go in the HOF.
where’s the gravy
I bet it tastes great, followed by a food coma
You are brave and this looks pretty good
I usually use a lower quality cut for my chicken fried steak
Looks and sounds like a success to me. I love a good country fried steak but have never done it with a ribeye. I have done a country fried tuna steak using yellowfin tuna and then a jalapeno cream gravy and wasabi mashed potatoes. I mention that only as a reference as to what could be done with a country fried ribeye. Maybe a horseradish infused cream gravy? Or a regular white gravy with horseradish mashed potatoes? Ugh. OP, you have inspired me to experiment with this.
Well done, OP. (You, not the steak)
I think I’d still put it through a cuber or beat it with a hammer before breading. It’s an interesting experiment but probably a waste of a good ribeye.
If it helped you get through your rough day, than job well done!
Never had a ribeye done like this, but country/chicken fried steak a one of my BIG guilty pleasures. My doc wouldn’t be pleased about that fact, but what he doesn’t know…. Personally, I enjoy mine with a nice cream gravy, and an ice cold beer.
First pic looks like a fried ear

Looks perfect
My N!ps can only get so hard. 🤤
Gotta have cream gravy with a chicken fried steak! Looks great!
You do you.
Why not. I’d definitely eat it. Need some gravy though!
I love country fried sake, but I can’t eat anymore. Dr would kill me.
I’ll take one with gravy
Man, I love a good country-fried steak! I never thought about pounding out a cheap cut of ribeye, though. I will definitely try this, though. My only constructive feedback is to ensure that your breading is crispier. Looks a little soggy. And as others have already mentioned, GRAVY!
Thanks for the idea!
I love a good country fried steak, but I just can’t imagine using ribeye for it 😭😭 get some cubed steak man
Heart attack steak!
Hey boss that’s not the kind of beef you use for country friend steak.
Damn that actually looks divine.
I’m glad you liked it, but it’s a no from me, dawg!
My arteries are clenching up just looking at it.
Looks great, needs gravy!
I’m in. You sir may very well be a scholar, and a gentleman.
Personally I’d add some gravy, mashed potatoes, and or cubed home fries. Talking bout the double starch boogie.
Throw in some grilled asparagus or sweet peas, and a fried egg to your liking if you wanna switch it up. Serve greens and cornbread if you are bold.
Fry on my friend! Fry on!
All seriousness. I’m gonna do this. It’s a bold choice, and I’m down.
