$9.98 at Sam’s. Anybody have any experience with these? Anyone know who makes them?

Don’t know who makes them. Just smoked some ribs with them.

Don’t know who makes them but they are fine. Pretty similar to pit boss competition.

I’ve put probably 500+ pounds of them through my smoker, never an issue. I either grab them or tractor supply ones, just depends on if I’m willing to risk my sanity by going into Sam’s.

  4. It’s all I run. I’ve out hundreds of pounds through my Reqtec. Burns nice and clean.

I’ve heard Bear Mountain makes them

Smokehouse was bought out by Bear Mountain in 2007. It looks like Bear Mountain’s parent (Lignetics) occasionally supplies smokehouse with pellets, but they predominantly produce their own.

I find all quality pellets work about the same. In a pinch I made the mistake of buying some cheap off brand at a grocery store. The first cook wasn’t bad, but by the next weekend they had turned to powder on the hopper and with humidity they were like concrete around the auger… never again, quality pellets from here on out

These are absolutely rock solid. If I couldn’t get Lumberjack relatively cheaply, this is probably all I would use. I still end up buying a bag randomly during a Sam’s run at some point every year because they’re so cheap but absolutely solid.

I don’t know who makes them, but they’re my go to pellets for most cooks. And when I do want a specialty wood for a cook, if I’m wrapping that item, then I switch to these once wrapped.

I’ve used some cheap pellets that leave a ton of klinkers, some that are extremely ashy after burnt. These are no worse than the name brand ones I’ve tried. They’re much cheaper though.

I used the same from Sam’s 14.99 usually. Consistent, low ash, cheap. The hell else anyone want?

pretty much all i use anymore… 9.98? they are 16 bucks here in KCMO. regardless, they are cheap AF and smell, to me, a lot like what bbq smoke should smell like. that being said, i have a pellet that has a wood chunk tray for real wood and the pellets really don’t matter…not that they really do anyway.

Damn I’m going tomorrow to check my Sam’s. It’s normally $15. It’s good stuff, no complaints. I have a pit boss and I took them up on their offer for a free bag, there was so much dust I didn’t even finish the bag. I had to run back to Sam’s for a bag of this stuff.

  12. Use them all the time. Great people, 0 complaints.
