Would you pay $74.99 for a cake from Paris Baguette?
Walked into Paris Baguette in New Jersey and saw this cake for $74.99. Have y’all ever seen a cake this expensive at a chain bakery?? Is there gold inside or something? 💀

Not for a frozen and then thawed cake, no.

Hell no, I wouldn’t even pay half of $74.99

Nope.

No I think I could make my own cake for less

A friend of ours got one of these for my wife’s birthday. We still have the small plastic penguins and an igloo from the top of our cake. Can’t say it was bad or cheap, I didn’t have any of it… but there are people who buy these, thinking they are splurging for a high-end cake for someone. This was about two years ago and only $50 then, but still…

No way lol. That cake looks mid AF too. My wife insists on toul le jours for her cake and those are $50. Pretty good, but really no cake is worth that much.

That’s obscene
For $75 i would want my mom’s famous german chocolate cake next day fedex on dry ice

I don’t understand the appeal of Paris Baguette. Expensive and mediocre pastries.

Maybe for a fresh blueberry chiffon – but most of their cakes are dry and flavorless.

Frozen to thawed…

No. I would find a good local baker and pay them.

So overrated…. 😫

Honestly i stopped going to PB for cakes when they started charging $40 for them lol 75 for a single tier cake is insane.
Rina_81
$75 is a bit expensive for PB cake…. I had the Hello Kitty holiday cake from tous les jours for my birthday and it was ~$50. I live in a VHCOL area.

Paris baguette is so expensive, they are ridiculous. Thankfully we have an 85c here and they are way cheap and so good. Yesterday I picked up five pastries and a large iced coffee for $16, at PB that would be at least $40 if not more.

No doubt their prices are a bit too high, pay for a slice and see if it’s worth the extravagance.

Absolutely not. We got a coupon a few weeks ago for BOGO cake slices, which we were excited about because we’d only discovered the shop the week before. The pastries were tasty, and the cakes had looked good! Turns out the slices of cake were the blandest, least appealing cake we’ve ever had, and we ended up tossing both of them half eaten. 🙁 the croissant filled with ham and cheese is so frickin’ good though!

In Korea that cake would be $20 max. Not even close to worth it

In what world does this cake serve 18?
Upset_String_2378
No, in the Paris Baguette across from my apartment the cakes sell for between 30,000-45,000 won, maybe? Half the price of what’s in this photo
AcanthisittaWhole216
I like their chocolate cloud cake, I usually don’t look at the price, just get whatever I like
krys1128
lol the decorations are mini marshmallows, blobs of frosting, and plastic

The food is mediocre and has gone downhill…. I literally saw they changed the recipe for the green tea cake to food coloring.
Wonderful_Okra_5013
FAK NO. Same cake here in la is around 35.99 which is still pricey in my opinion. Cant believe they would mark that up double. Ridiculous.

For $75 I’d make my own cake, and a few extras for my friends.

I brought the Christmas French roll cake to my family Christmas dinner this year and we were not impressed.

SPC (conglomerate that owns PB) has terrible labor practices and I haven’t bought anything them from years. If you don’t support the death of workers you should probably avoid PB regardless of the price

What city do you live in? $75 is a robbery and I wonder who actually buys that shit

I would think that with a name like “Paris Baguette” they would be more likely to be Vietnamese, not Korean…🤔
therapy0311
I wouldn’t ever spend that much at Paris Baguette.
Paris Croissant on the other hand, I would spend that much for their Strawberry Rare Cheese Tart cake. Which has unfortunately risen so much in price… used to be $35~$38, but now it costs $53…
CaramelRibbons
Definitely not, I ate their baked goods a couple years ago. Not worth the money at all. I make it better at home.

I’d much rather buy the 3 of Costco tuxedo or seasonal cakes. It’s currently strawberry cheesecake cake.
Way overpriced. This photo taken at Tous Le Jours (Little Ferry, NJ).

I don’t think we have cakes in Paris Baguette for the price of ~70$. I haven’t visited in years but the maximum would be ~50k₩. And in any case, the cake from the photo looks like 30k₩ tops.
