A guy local to me is selling a Traeger Pro 34. He says last time he used it, apparently, it overheated and needs a new thermo probe and just wants to get rid of it. He’s asking $85 OBO. Is it worth taking a look at and having as a spare for big cooks?

If it’s in otherwise good condition then yes, the Traeger Pro 34 was on sale for $350 much of last year. But buter beware…

Ask him to show you a picture of the error codes it’s throwing. Then call Traeger and ask them to confirm the error code and how much a replacement part is. When you see it in person, power it on and make sure the rest is fine.

If it really is what he says it is, then that’s a <$20 part. I’d go for it at his asking price. Other than the controller, the replacement parts on pellet grills are nice and cheap

Sadly doesn’t seem like it’ll happen I messaged him and marketplace told me chances of a response are basically zero being he hasn’t responded to anyone

    I hate tregs….
But at 85, I’d snag it.
