There were a couple of Tritip post recently. Anyone ever do a 16 hour cook? That is what is recommended by the Breville app. I tried 3 hrs and I felt it could have used more time. The meat was labeled as a Tritip roast.

Thank you for your picture post to r/sousvide. We want to remind everyone of Rule #5. Posts should be accompanied by something to foster discussion. A comment, a question, etc is encouraged.

If you’ve posted a picture of something you’ve prepared, please explain why in a comment so people can have some sort of conversation. Simply dropping a picture of food in the sub isn’t really fostering any discussion which is what we’re all aiming for.

Posts that are a picture with no discussion can and will be removed by the mods.

    Thank you!!

I like to do 6-8 hours. Never tried longer than that for a tri-tip but I’m sure it’d be good.

I’ve done 135 for 5 hours, 7 hours and 10 hours. Personally 10 hours was best. I’m sure the quality of the meat itself is going to dictate a lot of how tender they turn out with shorter cooks. But in my case 5 hours was tougher than I would’ve liked, and 10 hours was great

    I like 135-137 for about 4 hours for tri-tip.

I’ve been using Chat GPT with weights, time and temperature stuff for awhile now. Smoker and sous vide. It doesn’t recommend anything longer than 8 hours.

For a bigger tri-tip roast 130-135 all day. Comes out great.
