Italian cafe brings authentic gelato, espresso to Hoover

HOOVER, Ala. (WBRC) – There is a place in Hoover where Italy comes alive.

Vecchia Gelato and Cafe, owned by Bernard and Brianna Tamburello, offers espresso, pastries, pasta, sandwiches and homemade gelato made from a family recipe. The cafe also serves Italian spritz drinks.

The Tamburellos visited Italy for a month during the summer and found cafes serving espresso and pastries at every stop. They experienced pasta and sandwiches for lunch and finished their meals with gelato.

Vecchia Gelato and Cafe is open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week. The cafe is located at 616 Preserve Parkway, Suite 112, in Hoover.
