$17.95 a pound for prime grade NY strip is very reasonable. It’s considerably more than that at my local Costco.

Might be labeled as prime, but that looks like low choice. It happens, but I wouldn’t view it as getting a deal on prime.
Edit: I see you say it was locally sourced. Makes sense. Was this actually graded as prime? Certified organic beef, especially from smaller farms, is almost never graded. Like ever. I’ve never seen it anywhere.
