Yes this is from LB!
Saw some of the mixed reviews of these older vintages being sold at discount so I was excited to see what I’d get. Came in yesterday.
No decanting / aerating – probably too delicate for that, and from what I’m tasting it doesn’t need it.
Nose needed a min to settle – dark, subtle stewed fruits…some grape vine earthiness, nothing fantastic.
Taste is spot on though for what I’d expect for a wine that may be a little past peak but from a good year in Napa. Still a hint of fruit, very smooth tannins, strong raw olive notes, very well balanced acidity, dark tart overripe plum. Not exceptionally complex by any means, but it’s been well preserved for 21 years. Gives you an acceptable taste of well-aged Napa wine for an extreme value. Very faint astringency on the finish but it’s not harsh and to be expected I think.
I have some 2013’s as well that I will compare soon.

I’ve been wondering how these bottles have evolved since… 3 days ago.
Waiting on mine lol it’s been a month I think.
Nice! I opened a 2000 Elivette a few weeks ago. It was a good bottle, but I felt like the $40 I paid for it from LB was what the MSRP should have been, not an insanely discounted price. Maybe my palette isn’t refined enough, but I feel like these old Napa retail prices were absolutely insane.
Bruh. Everyone on this sub bought Elivette, presumably all from last bottle.
Good on you. I’m sad I missed out.
Just opened a 2016 for tonight. I got 6 of that one, so figured I’d break into them now.
Got a mag of the 2000 and two bottles of the 2004. Once dry Jan is over I’m cracking the 2000 and can’t wait
Drinking the 2006 right now
Nice! I just opened this and drinking it right now. I agree it’s a little past. Yet again, a few sips have a very slight bright spot.
It’s a bummer, but for the price? I’ll debate that during my second glass…
I have a couple Mags of the 04’s and 08’s. I’m hoping maybe the mags held up better.
How did your corks look? All my 04 singles had depressed corks. Clean pull with a normal key, Heavy diamond deposits.
