A Mediterranean restaurant in Worcester that was shut down due to an electrical fire is expected to reopen in March, according to the president of the restaurant’s parent company.

Vivienne on 446 Main St. closed its doors last September after an electrical fire broke out in the restaurant.

Michael Covino, the president of Vivienne’s parent company, Niche Hospitality Group, announced in an Instagram video posted Tuesday that the restaurant is expected to reopen in March.

In the video, Covino can be seen standing in front of the restaurant’s interior. The ceiling behind Covino has holes in the shape of square tiles. An orange ladder lies on its side on the floor, with only the bottom part visible in the video.

In another shot, the restaurant’s bar top is covered in brown construction paper with blue strips of masking tape attached to the paper’s surface.

“I’m really excited for it,” Covino said. “Finally getting that thing rebuilt.”

Instagram users wrote positive comments about the restaurant’s reopening.

“Looking forward to seeing y’all operational again,” one user wrote.

“Can’t wait!” wrote another. “Vue was amazing.”

Vivienne officially opened on Sept. 3 and offers food from several countries on the Mediterranean coast.

Dishes offered at the restaurant include grilled whole branzino, hamachi crudo, and a pasta dish called Mushroom Francobolli, which features pasta in the shape of postage stamps filled with mushroom béchamel, accompanied by pork and tomato ragu, roasted mushrooms and pecorino.

The restaurant is located at the bottom of The Glass Tower, the tallest building in Worcester.

In December, Niche Hospitality Group opened another business in the Glass Tower, the VUE Cocktail Lounge and Event Venue.

VUE is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. and on Sundays from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
