EAST ALTON, Ill. — Joe’s Pizza and Pasta, a small chain featuring pizza and other Italian foods announced that it will be closing its East Alton location soon at a date still to be determined in a post on its Facebook page.
The company will continue to operate stores in Godfrey, Jerseyville and Edwardsville.
In the post no reason was given for the closing, but the company did thank its customers and encouraged them to get a last bite at the location.
“We want to sincerely thank our customers, team members, and the community for their support over the years,” said the post. “It’s been a privilege to serve you… Come see us this week while we wind down operations.”
The location will reopen as Penalty Box Bar and Grill at a future date. Themed as a sports bar, the business said on social media it will also have pool tables and darts, a patio with live music and acts and a private party room.
“A brand-new destination for friends, families, and anyone who enjoys good times done right. Opening date announcement coming soon — stay tuned,” the business said.
