No shame to the customer since he was polite and she has a beard, but she had a name tag on with an unquestionably feminine name. I genuinely couldn't figure out who he was talking about for like an hour

Adding text here cause it’s a little hard to read:
[Arrow pointing to] Transfem coworker
Customer: “Who was the young man with the collar who rang me up?”
[Arrow pointing to me]: Has no clue who he’s referring to
DisconcertingTablet
Me coming to realize that, while I actually have no clue how I identify gender-wise, I just wish I could feel secure enough dressing way way wayyy more feminine. But I’m 6’8″, generally hate my face without a beard (no chin 😭, but decent jaw, ironically), and because of how I was raised, I have a pathological revulsion of the masculine body/form, which also means my own body. So I only feel secure/safe in masculine clothes (even though I try to dress boldly/flamboyantly).
Yeah, rant-dump.

Do so many of your colleagues wear collars that you truly had no idea…?

I’m so androgynous that people would genuinely stare at me confused with their mouth fumbling before they would settle on “person” or “co-worker” if they were referring to me with someone else. Once I had a lady and a child paying and the child wanted to pay, so the mother said “come on give the…” and she looked at me and smiled and looked confused and said “…person, the change”.
I love these interactions, genuinely lol its really sweet.
