Invest in a cheap welding blanket. Best $25 you’ll spend for cold weather smoking! This Christmas I just smoked the Christmas turkey at -28c, no wind. Zero heat issues.

I’d say it depends how cold and windy it gets where you are. If that were mine, I would definitely seal it since it’s always so damn cold and windy here and every bit of heat retention matters. Also why I now own a double-walled and well sealed unit. Frickin’ wind!

No, don’t bother. You need a little airflow. If it’s leaking *a lot* it needs to be structurally repaired.
Is a ton of smoke coming out? Are your temps inconsistent? Then maybe.
