When the lights are off and the mic is put away, Megan Thee Stallion is happiest doing something decidedly low-key: cooking.
The Houston native has been open about how often her kitchen turns into a gathering spot, with friends and family drifting in and out hoping she’ll fire up the stove. “You would not think that people are walking around my house asking me to make them food, but that is definitely happening to me,” she said to Today.

Her style leans Southern and comforting rather than flashy. Megan describes finding joy in simple meals done right—like a breakfast sandwich she can’t stop perfecting. “It’s something as basic as a breakfast sandwich,” she said, listing scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, bread, and a few carefully chosen sauces.
The surprise, she added, is how those basics come together. “I don’t know why it tastes so good.”
That same philosophy carries over to heartier dishes she’s been rotating at home: roast beef with potatoes (still a work in progress, by her own admission), rich oxtails, and a spaghetti dish that’s become a staple.
In an August 2025 TikTok, Megan documented making pasta paired with catfish—a Southern touch—for her boyfriend, NBA star Klay Thompson. According to Megan, it’s a repeat request. He asks for it “like every week,” she said, laughing about how often the plate makes an encore.
Cooking has even become a way for her to express where she’s at in life. “I’m getting in my bag. I’m getting in my wifely era,” Megan joked, a line that landed with fans who’ve watched her lean into food content more and more.

Online, she’s shown everything from playful snack experiments—think fried Hot Cheeto pickles—to a full Thanksgiving spread she cooked ahead of meeting Thompson’s family, complete with a carefully brined turkey and multiple sides.
Some recipes, though, stay locked away. “I can’t just be giving out my secret recipes now,” she said, invoking her grandmother as the ultimate guardian of the family playbook.
She did offer one hint about her barbecue baked beans: “Just know that it’s packed with lots of meat, lots of vegetables.”
