If someone told me I could only eat one Korean dish for the rest of my life,
no hesitation. This would be it.
Gamjatang. My soul food.
What’s yours?

I love Gamjatang but there is not one dish in the world I could eat every day for even a week let alone for the rest of my life. Too boring

I’ve never had gamjatang before but I always see people getting it at the Korean restaurant I frequent, is it that good?

Such a hard question omg. It always changes depending on my mood but I guess gun to head just a good old kimchi jjigae. Never gets tiring.

Kalbijim or sundubu jjiggae or gori gomtang would be my top 3, wouldn’t know how to choose between the 3!

I’m a meat a holic so the answer is easy. Bulgogi. Especially if beef and pork are allowed.
Or, maybe, banchan. I can’t get enough of the stuff. Back in Oaktown, a good restaurant prides itself on the banchan and lays it on thick. 8, 10, 12, even 14 kinds. Refills with a smile. God damn! Can’t get but one or two at western MA resataurants, which doesn’t matter cuz I haven’t found one worth a return.
Went to the one in Greenfield for lunch. Restaurant is empty. I’m sitting there and I hear the distinct sound of the microwave bell. Should got up and walked out right then. Ugh.

Can I say bibimbap? Not sure its cheating because you can make jt with so may different veggies / proteins lol
But it has the best balance of veggies to protein to carbs and like i have it with bulgogi or spicy chicken or tofu so its really got a lot of variety

There was a restaurant in Insa-dong that had this crazy, amazing boiled chicken in this sweet spicy sauce with potatoes, carrots, etc. My favorite spot when I took friends to visit touristy areas in Seoul. It was always a hit.

Dakgalbi, including the fried rice made with leftovers. Very strong contender is dotsol bibimbap with various protein choices.
