I have a couple of things I would do different next time. I would add more sugar and juice to the bottom for a more uniform level and let it sit for like a hour or so to soak. The blood slices should have been thinner. My springform pan is over a decade and a half old and I found out…leaks! Use more orange blossom water, I was scared of it tasting like a candle so I did only a few drops of that and about a teaspoon of vanilla but orange vibe could be stronger. Great with plain Greek yogurt on the side, but next time with try with like a drop of olive oil and honey in the yogurt.

Looks awesome! It’s a beautiful cake~
That looks awesome.
I posted a photo of the cake I made using this recipe from Dessert Person in a discord I was in with a bunch of friends, and friends of friends. It intrigued a friend of a friend so much that he messaged me asking for the recipe. He became a close friend and now he’s my husband.
This recipe is near and dear to my heart lol

I love olive oil cake
This is so beautiful! I also need to commend your slicing technique – my oranges did not look nearly so pretty after cutting!
Beautiful!
I’ve never had an olive oil cake. Is it richer than using butter? How does it affect the taste vs using a blander oil?
I like the variation in color on the top of the cake. I think it’s more beautiful than if it were uniform in color. Nature’s brush 🥰
Beautiful!

How’s the orange pith / how does it taste in this? Will it mellow out completely once it’s baked, or does it add some bitterness, or what…
Like a beautiful stained glass window!
