CQ French Brasserie, the homegrown French brasserie by Rosy Hospitality, has officially opened its second location at the Grand Millennium Hotel in Barsha Heights, following the success of its first venue in JLT. Bringing a refined yet relaxed fine-casual approach to classic French brasserie culture, CQ was built on the belief that great dining is defined by honest cooking, warm service, and a thoughtfully curated wine offering. This Barsha Heights opening marks the brand’s second outpost, grounded in the founders’ extensive hospitality experience and a clear vision from Ziad and Rowan Kamel following their step into full independence. Rooted in the ethos of La Brasserie des Potes, a brasserie for friends and family, CQ Barsha Heights is built around community, generosity, and a convivial spirit that keeps guests coming back.

A contemporary Parisian brasserie

Spanning 750 square metres, CQ French Brasserie Barsha Heights is inspired by the rhythm of Parisian brasserie life, reinterpreted through a modern, design-led lens. Designed by Yasmin Farahmandy of Y Design Interior, the space blends elements of a timeless brasserie with warmth, texture, and contemporary restraint. Striped awnings, mosaic floors, exposed brick walls, curved banquettes, bentwood chairs, and brass accents ground the space in French heritage, while olive trees, greenery, and soft lighting introduce a Mediterranean ease. The palette of deep greens, burgundy, warm creams, and muted reds is intentionally chosen to encourage long lunches, unhurried dinners, and late-night conversations.

Unique to Barsha Heights is an open kitchen, offering guests a glimpse into the craft and rhythm behind each dish, reinforcing CQ’s commitment to transparency and honest cooking. Two Private Dining Rooms provide flexible options for intimate gatherings, meetings, and celebrations. Each room seats 14 guests individually or up to 28 when combined, and comes equipped with audio-visual capabilities, making it ideal for corporate presentations, movie screenings, or social events. A special privacy film allows the glass to be frosted at the touch of a button, creating an intimate atmosphere whenever required.

Al fresco dining: a year-round experience

The brasserie seats 250 guests, with 115 seats indoors and 135 seats outdoors, creating a seamless indoor–outdoor experience. Open and inviting, the terrace is designed for all-year-round enjoyment, comfortably covered in winter and air-conditioned in summer, while creating a relaxed, pedestrian-friendly atmosphere that connects seamlessly with the surrounding community and the Grand Millennium hotel. At its heart sits a Parisian-style island bar, flowing effortlessly between the dining room and terrace and acting as the social anchor of the restaurant. Suspended above it is CQ’s Golden Rooster (Le Coq d’Or), a symbol deeply rooted in French culture and central to the brand’s identity.

Art as atmosphere, not decoration

Art plays an intrinsic role in shaping the experience at CQ Barsha Heights. Curated in close collaboration with Art Painting Lab, the artworks are woven instinctively into the interiors, creating a layered environment that feels expressive, collected, and authentic. From the cabinet-of-curiosities-style reception to hand-sketched corridor drawings capturing moments of brasserie life, re-colored vintage French posters in the dining room, and playful pieces in the bar, each space carries its own narrative. Together, they form a brasserie where art and atmosphere are inseparable.

Timeless French cooking, served the CQ way

CQ Barsha Heights serves the same menu as CQ JLT, ensuring consistency across locations while maintaining the soul of classic French brasserie dining. Guests can enjoy staples such as Escargots, Croquette de Short Ribs et Comté, Moules Frites, and the signature CQ Steak Frites, alongside indulgent desserts like Crème Brûlée and Pain Perdu. Newer additions, including Poisson Frites, as well as the expanded seafood and vegetarian options, reflect CQ’s modern evolution while staying firmly rooted in tradition. True to Rosy Hospitality’s fine-casual ethos, the menu delivers exceptional value without compromising on quality.

While the food remains unified, Barsha Heights introduces its own signature cocktail menu, allowing the bar team to create drinks inspired by the neighborhood and develop cocktails that become synonymous with the location.

Ziad Kamel, Founder of CQ French Brasserie, said, “CQ French Brasserie is the culmination of everything we’ve learned over the past two decades in hospitality. With Rosy Hospitality, stepping into full independence has always been about creating places with soul. Since its launch in JLT in 2025, CQ has become the clearest expression of who we are as restaurateurs. Bringing our concept to Barsha Heights is the natural evolution of that vision in a community that embodies the diversity, spirit and charm of Dubai. This is a true neighborhood brasserie for friends & family; not built on trends, but on warmth, consistency, and genuine connection.”

Weekly rituals, made for the neighborhood

CQ Barsha Heights launches with the full lineup of weekly dining experiences guests have come to associate with the brand. Steak Frites Mondays, Moules Frites Tuesdays, Ladies Nights on Thursdays, the Gentlemen’s Menu on Saturdays, and Sunday LunchDay each bring a sense of rhythm and familiarity to the week.

A new chapter for Rosy Hospitality

CQ French Brasserie Barsha Heights forms part of Rosy Hospitality’s growing portfolio of independent, homegrown concepts. As of November 15th, 2025, founders Ziad and Rowan Kamel are no longer affiliated with Couqley and have fully stepped away from its operations to focus exclusively on their own brands under Rosy Hospitality, including Butter by the Dozen, Girl & the Goose – Restaurante Centroamericano, and CQ French Brasserie JLT.

Now open daily from 12 PM to 1 AM, CQ French Brasserie Barsha Heights marks the new chapter in the brand’s evolution, a brasserie built on independence, intention, and the enduring pleasure of eating well together.
