James Beard Award winning chefs and restaurants to know in metro Phoenix
Winning a James Beard Award is one of the highest honors a chef or restaurant can receive. It is basically the Oscars of the food industry.

Chowhound released its list of the best Italian restaurants in each state and Andreoli Italian Grocer in Scottsdale made the list.
To compile the list of standout restaurants with “exceptional cuisine,” Chowhound studied customer reviews and accolades (national and international).
The list revealed a mix of traditional and modern restaurants.
Andreoli Italian Grocer’s chef Giovanni Scorzo was a James Beard Award Finalist for Best Chef — Southwest in 2022. Scorzo has been cooking for over 30 years and has been compared to a character on “Seinfeld” for his purist take on Italian cuisine.
