PHOENIX — A new gelato shop is set to open in Tempe Thursday and guests who join the celebration can get free treats.
The family-owned brand, Dolce Vita Gelato, will celebrate its second location in the Valley with a grand opening ceremony, according to the brand’s owner, Fabrizio Cali.
“Our grand opening is our way of expressing gratitude to our new neighbors,” Cali said in a release. “We are honored to open Dolce Vita and share authentic Italian gelato in the Tempe community.”
The new dessert spot near Warner Road and Priest Drive will open Jan. 22 at noon.

The opening ceremonies will run until 7 p.m., and the shop will offer complimentary scoops of the store’s Stracciatella and lemon gelato to customers.
After the opening, the shop will be open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Dolce Vita’s original location has been serving Mesa patrons since opening in 2009 as an extension of Dolce Vita Gelato and Grocery. In 2023, the Mesa store earned a place among the best ice cream restaurants in the U.S. according to Yelp’s Top 100 list.
The Tempe location will follow the in-house recipes of the original and expand the menu to include items like tiramisu and Gelo di Melone, a Sicilian gelatin-like confection.
“Dolce Vita offers a genuine taste of Italy,” Cali said. “Italian cuisine offers so much depth and richness beyond what is commonly known.”
