I’ve made a version of this multiple times for potlucks. It’s very good

  2. RandomSam03

More irritated there is no fished product. I’ll have it myself I guess.

  3. IkBenEenOliebol

I’m game, but that’s more than half a cup of bbq sauce

  4. No-Panda-6047

Don’t knock it to you try it, this was at every family Christmas party and I ate a lot of them. Absolutely nothing stupid about this

  5. Skeletonzac

I don’t see anything wrong with this. I’d go heavier on the barbecue sauce myself though.

  6. Key_String2139

And this is why you people are all fat

  7. IncoherentTuatara

Not stupid, just standard American cultural food

  8. coverednmud

Okay I’ll be honest I’m curious. I think I’d try it.

Have had this countless times but with chili sauce instead of BBQ and paprika instead of red chili. Sounds gross but is actually amazing comfort food. Its a staple Halloween dish for me

  10. phaeolus97

This isn’t stupid at all. It totally works and needs the pectin from the jelly. Don’t knock it till you try it. Hopefully this for like 15-20 people though.

Why does American “cuisine” on the web never involve cutting vegetables, only assembling a dish with various pre-prepared ingredients…

  12. angryfoodgirl

America fascinates me actually, is this cultural food?

  13. Jess_in_Neverland

I don’t know how it works, but it works.

  14. bcarey34

This is definitely a don’t knock it till you try it recipe

Gonna take forever to get ” cooked” at 285 with that amount of stuff in there. 4 hours might do it

  16. This_User_Said

Uhm…maybe not all the spices but my mom could make a jam/mustard meatball crockpot thing.

We loved it for football games with some Hawaiian rolls 🤷‍♀️

  17. toutpetitpoulet

Y’all are haters. I haven’t tried it but no reason for it not to be good

  18. Her measurements given being irrelevant to what she actually did aside, this looks like it slaps.

  19. TheLastTreeOctopus

The mustard upsets me a little bit. But everything else is fine. My aunt made some really good meatballs on Christmas Eve with a sauce made from barbecue sauce and a can of cranberry sauce!

  20. Scorpdelord

    the end made me not care for the shit she made, i can not stand people who cant just show the finish product and doesthe;

Go tO mY seCouNd sHoRt dumb fk doing that

  21. innermongoose69

I think she’s rage baiting by portraying it as a normal dinner dish. Few people actually do that. This is a party or potluck dish. In that context, it’s not that stupid because there will be many other things on the plate.

  22. Muted_Confidence_285

Definitely more than half a cup BBQ but looks bangin. I do meatballs in the crock pot, instead I use chili sauce and grape jelly.

  23. Needs more BBQ sauce. Otherwise I’ll give it a shot. Every time there’s a dish like this at a pot luck, that pan hates to see me coming.

  24. FindTheTruth08

Def not stupid. Dumb she is digging out some jelly but doesn’t tell you what it is. She just says do 2 cups. I have been making holiday meatballs with chilli sauce and cranberry sauce and they are fantastic.

  25. ShadowKiller147741

Obviously the “half cup” of barbecue sauce is funny, followed by the ~2 cups of jelly, but I honestly don’t think this would be that bad of an item. Fundamentally a lot of it should work, but it really depends on those meatballs. Swedish meatballs would go absolutely crazy with this, they’re already served alongside Lingonberry Jam in some places, but something like a heavily seasoned Italian style meatball with herbs in it? Blegh

  26. CanadaWillBeOurs

OP, I was waiting for this to get stupid. Still am…

  27. Azilehteb

This is modern American, not classical.

If you want classical, you need to go for those weird savory aspic molds or food “loafs” from the Great Depression.

  28. Kazuka13

My father uses a little grape jelly when he’s making his homemade meatballs sauce and it’s not uncommon to add jelly to BBQ sauce but this was way to fucking much and the store brand usually has far more sugar then needed.

Country so we still can and make our own sauces and jelly but as a big eater myself this is just far too much.

  29. Phatal87

That actually sounds pretty good honestly. I used to be a sous chef…. It sounds like a stupid mix… but the sweet and savory combo right there is fire

  30. Toxic_Duckies

Actually its pretty good. The grape jelly and barbecue sauce is fire 🔥🔥🔥 don’t knock it till you try it!

  31. Osha_Hott

Give me some mashed potatoes or a baked potato and I’d absolutely down some of this. Like it looks horrible but also absolutely amazing. I’m legit craving some lil smokies now.
