I've been wanting to make one of these forever and finally got to do one this morning for my dad's birthday. The layers are dark chocolate with a cherry filling, all decorations are piped buttercream. I think it's super cute!!

I’d have to enthusiastically agree, it is super cute! To get a cake like this, made from scratch and it look so beautiful and I can only assume make tastebuds do cartwheels, that must make a person feel so special. Hopes your dad has a happy birthday! Wonderful job on the cake.
