2024 I wanted to grow peppers, so I had bought a habanero potted store plant November 2024. Then comes 2025 summer I had forgot all about it, and it was about 2 inches tall and had one little fruit dying so I decided to plant it into my great grandparents old mossy garden bed, thinking it might die but it just went crazy. Right now today I harvested about 140 peppers. This is my first year growing anything and am curious do they usually grow this much peppers ??? And At some point I just left it on the plant because there was so much and didn’t know what to do with them

Sure it’s normal but eating all of them needs to be thought about first! This growing season I’ll be growing all the Habaneros I have!

Not sure what’s normal but Ive had the most success with C chinense varietals by far. The scotch bonnets i grew last summer put out 10x the fruit of any of my C anuum varietals.
For sure, I have had Paper Lantern Habeneros crank off hundreds of peppers in a season.

Mmmmm, yummy! Habaneros, serranos, and jalapeños go bonkers here too. Hot sauce and salsa, yum.
My habanero plants grow a lot of fruit too. More than my jalapeno plants . Tabasco grows a lot too

Can I ask which way your fence line is oriented? Does that area get full sun, or does it get shaded when sun goes past the fence?
Happened to me too. I bought a $5 plant at Lowes and ended up with 200 peppers. Buy a dehydrator, it can really help with handling the volume
Dude, that’s actually a super solid harvest, especially for your first go at it! Habaneros are wild when they’re happym, if they get enough sun and water, one single plant can crank out a ton of fruit like that. Happens a lot with hot peppers, honestly.
My first year I totally underestimated how many I’d get, too. Ended up scrambling to give bags away to friends and tried my hand at hot sauce (and regretted not using gloves, lol).
I grew 8 plants and only got 100 😭😭😭 I hate you so much.
