I've had the habit of drinking five cups of espresso every day for 15 years. Sometimes I've even had seven cups a day, but that was definitely excessive, so I reduced the amount. I sometimes make my espresso with a capsule coffee machine, and sometimes with a semi-automatic machine. Compared to lattes, I prefer the rich flavor of espresso.

Your nervous system must feel like static all the time.

I’ve been on that same amount of caffeine the last 8 years or so. No negative impacts at all for me. But go to bed at 9 and wake up at 5 to exercise 5-6 days/week.

I tried this under lots of work pressure and let me tell you something, I don’t want to try that again, i call it Squirrel Effect.

4 shot latte in the morning, another 2shot latte after lunch. Monday through Friday.

I like your dedication to the brown spice! The spice must flow!

40 ounces of espresso a day?! You might need to dial it back.

And here I am trying to cut back from 2

Geez that’s a lot. What’s your resting HR? Do you sleep well lol

When I had to work in a office a few years ago, I was spending 300 a week at Starbucks, espresso con panna 5 shot 2 – 3 * a. Day, I work for a cruise company and when I cruise I get the unlimited Starbucks package not the alcohol package.

I have learned that some people can function perfectly fine with a lot of Caffeine ( not just Coffee) but most have a limit.

My stomach will surrender itself to gerd if I took that many shots per day.

Can feel the anxiety from this post. Wow. Almost shit my pants reading this too

my body shivered thinking about that much per day

Honestly 5 seems normal to me lol.

I don’t do that much (now) but I grew up up in a coffee house.

I do 2-4 shots daily depending on if I’m having a latte or a cup of filter coffee for breakfast

How many grams of coffee for one espresso? If you are using capsules, five a day seems pretty tame….

  16. Signal_Daikon_5830

7 cups of espresso a day. Holy cow.

  17. NaturalSuccessful521

Crema like that I thought it was a half pint if Guinness

  18. 7 was excessive? Perhaps you should look at that again 😂

It’s nothing mind blowing, average male body can handle 300mg of caffeine without developing too much tolerance

Good that you count. My daily coffee consumption is unacceptable for the past 17 years

Hmmm. I was a heavy caffeine user for about 10 years, but idk if I ever averaged 5 double espressos per day. I would totally drink that many if I didn’t expect myself to explode 😅

Do you drick plenty of water as well? How are your organs (stomache, kidneys, bladder) feeling?

  23. WesternBlot6

There’s no such thing “espresso cup”. Espresso shot. There FTFY.

Jokes aside. 15 single or doubles per day?

  24. Opening_Chance2731

If it’s 100% arabica coffee then it’s the equivalent of just 2 double robusta espressos per day.

Also, the caffeine content in capsule machines tends to be somewhat lower than semi automatics.

Either way if 5 works for you then go for it, but I wouldn’t keep it at 5 without trying a 4 per day routine (removing the last one you’d drink during the day) as it will likely improve your sleep

If these are single shots (50-80mg of caffeine) not that crazy tbh. In Australia a pretty significant percentage of the population are having at least two double shot coffees a day.

Single or double shots? We had a blast driving around Italy last summer. The rest stops on the Autostrada are amazing and we had espressos at every stop. Basically, you are microdosing caffeine all day long, and of course the Italian rituals are fun to experience. We drank a lot of espresso, without wrecking our sleep. We can’s wait to go back,

I was drinking same amount of caffeine during the day. Then halved the intake and only drink before 13:00, quality of sleep improved big time.
