Couldn’t stop eating these in Singapore but can’t remember the name for the life of me. Pancake like texture with honey comb interior and crushed peanuts.
Not exactly the same but Hodo Kwaja on Bloor has filled pancakes (pro tip if you get the brown sugar one filling is HOT and you will burn your tongue if you eat it too quickly)
Apam Balik in Malaysia, Apam Balik or Min Jiang Kueh in Singapore, Martabak in Indonesia (and also Malaysia).
There are slight differences in all three but not materially different enough to matter here – there are some Singaporean, Malaysian or Indonesian restaurants that sell them. Look for any of those three names.
A really important distinction though: murtabak is actually Middle Eastern and savoury, if you go to a place like Mutabak Karak in Toronto it’s mostly savoury, not sweet, and thinner. The sweet variant that’s more like apam balik or min jiang kueh, you’d have to look for ‘martabak’ or ‘martabak manis’ at an Indonesian restaurant specifically.

Oh these are Asian honeycomb cakes with some stuffing. You can get them in Vietnamese style, Malaysian, Chinese etc. some dim sum places in Toronto have them too.
The one fusion has it. It’s #49 on their dimsum menu ( ask me how I know hyukhyuk)

I’ve seen videos on YouTube where they make these. They slather them in margarine, Milo chocolate powder, chocolate sprinkles, condensed milk, peanuts, then they grate a cheese on top. I would love to try a bite or two, but I don’t think I could eat even half of one.
Martabak! Love this but very very high in calories and sugar

I am Chinese and there is this almost identical thing called 潮州冷糕 Teochow cold cake (laang gou). Though en fait the shop in picture is southeast asian, i believe.

Maybe a bit overkill info. This food has chinese (Hakka) origin and spread all across asia with several different style and minor differences (some are more sweet some are more dense) This is essentially thick pancake with glorious filling
TLDR: my fave is Indonesian version very sweet and fluffy under the name Martabak manis / Terang bulan / Kue bandung
In singapore-malaysia region: Apam balik Peanut pancake Ban jian kueh Hok lo pan
China: 滿煎糕 Man Jian Gao
Taiwan: (less sweet, less butter, lighter overall) 麥仔煎 Mai Zai Jian
If any of this info is incorrect, correct me if I’m wrong
Knowing Toronto has amazing food diversity I’m sure you can find each versions in town
