Both Governors put dinner — and dessert — on the line ahead of Monday’s matchup between IU and Miami.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Indiana Governor Mike Braun has challenged Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to a wager.

Ahead of the highly anticipated national championship game between Indiana and Miami, the Indiana Governor sent a message to Gov. DeSantis calling for a friendly wager, which includes food from each state.

Gov. Braun wrote on X, “If IU loses, I’ll send you some pork from @FischerFarmsIN, which is in my neck of the woods in Dubois County, plus some pies from the famous @WicksPies.” Braun finished his post asking Gov. DeSantis, “You in?”

Gov. DeSantis was quick to respond on X, saying, “Mike — I am happy to oblige and am impressed with IU’s turnaround (thanks in part to a Miami kid at QB). But I am all-in for The U.”

Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza is Miami native, having played at Christopher Columbus High School, a private college-prep school.

DeSantis took a jab at Braun, saying, “If Indiana wins, I’ll send stone crabs and key lime pie from @joesstonecrab. I will just drop them off in Naples or Marco Island since that’s basically Indiana south this time of year.”

The CFP National Championship will be on ESPN on Monday, January 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami
