Reminds me of when I was in Paris a long time ago. My Parisian friend ordered a café noisette for me and got a cup of black coffee with some whole almonds in it. She explained that we don’t want almonds in it but milk until it reached the colour of noisette.
The waiter excused himself and returned with a cup of black coffee with finely hacked almonds in it. Next we explained for a waitress what we desired and she laughed and told us that the guy was from Germany and there to learn French and this was his first week.
Got my café noisette in the end. 😃

I said, “I ordered double espresso”, then barista girl answered: “this is the way we serve double espresso, I can change it with an Americano if you like.” I tried to explain things but i knew that it’s not gonna change anything haha.

This gave me flashbacks to watching an Italian barista ready to throw fists with a group of American teenagers shouting “LATTE IS MILK!YOU ALL ORDERED MILK!” Before undoubtably swearing up a storm in Italian. But in that case barista was correct lol
