Patrick Riley, 28, and Katie Addison, 30, of Whitehaven, have opened Riley’s Bistro in the former Casa Italian building on Queen Street.
Patrick Riley was the head chef at Casa Italian and his partner Katie has previous experience in hospitality as a restaurant supervisor.

Patrick said he had always wanted to open his own restaurant so when the opportunity came up by chance, they took it.
Casa Italian closed on December 31 and Riley’s Bistro was opened to the public on January 9. The bistro has already been receiving rave reviews online.
Patrick said: “We are offering high quality comfort food well suited to the area. We feel we have a great base menu that has something for everyone and intend to put specials on for more experimental dishes.

“The public reaction has been overwhelming, from positive reviews of food and service to an incredible reaction online to our menu.”
Dishes on offer include stone baked pizzas, steak, burgers, lasagne, creamy chicken and stir fry.
