This is my first recording of myself preparing a flat white via my home setup. I hope you enjoy watching the dialing in, steaming and latte art!
Machine: Sage Barista Express
Beans: Colombia – Washed
Mug: Loveramics Mint Color 200ml
Espresso shot:
Dose in : 18.8gr
Out: 45gr
Time: 32 seconds
I increased the brew ratio since I use washed beans so it needs more extraction.

looks great, nice job! 👍🏻
One biscuit too many. Spoiled it for me
There is a lever upgrade for the steam knob my wife got me for a Christmas and it has changed my life. Easy to install. Check it out, just google “breville steam knob lever”
Ooo are those mini stroop waffles?
Where did you get the portafilter, basket and tamper out of curiosity?

Nice video? Still don’t get how one fits 18g in their 54mm baskets. I barely get 17g in based on the beans
The amount of faffing here is unbelievable. Over 8 minutes to make 1 coffee ffs
I definitely appreciate your video more than the hyper-optimized YouTube shorts that show up on my feed.
Yours feels more real. I too stare off into space while watching my grinder for no reason.
Could I be prepping my equipment while the beans grind? Sure.
Could I be prepping my milk while the shot pulls? Of course.
But here we are. And I too tamp my freshly poured milk to help settle the air bubbles that don’t exist yet because it’s straight from the fridge lol.
I’m not sure if your scale does this, but mine has a mode where it will start the timer as soon as the liquid hits the cup so that you don’t have to watch it and start it manually. You switch to this mode by doing a press-and-hold on the timer button.
i sped that shit up to the end. no ragrets
The autism is strong with this post
Can you tell me what coffee cups those are? Looking for that exact color.
Missing the link to the spray bottle. Haha
Where did you get that?
Love the music and the non forced tempo. Keep beeing you! 🎶☕️
Literally no reason to take that long to make
Have you ever had to restart a video due to fumbling the portafilter flip?

This was a great, relaxing watch! I am still a beginner, got my first machine in September and I love the routine it adds to my day. It’s OK to take time out of an otherwise nonstop rushed day to slow down and make a nice drink. Great video!
I gave up after a minute, I use a flair and can have a coffee made in half the time
“I want the world to watch me do it and I’ll make it eeeeeextra slow baby”
Chose the wrong music buddy!
Dude! I’m late for work! Get in with it already!
Very tough watch.
Looks like Amsterdam Noord
Nice
Prima bakkie koffie, 3 koekjes, niets meer aan doen
I might be wrong but maybe for this grinder you are bothering yourself too much with lal the extra steps and fancy gestures. I think this setup is more forgiving and you will make the same espresso without all the extra steps. Like I d say skip the funnel, the redistribution, and just temper once and skip the wiping. I think you calculated very precisely your grounds weight but then threw some away, so I d say just save yourself some time and just fill the container with beans and use the grinder settings to get the quantity you need.
It would be good to leave the portafilter in and turn on the machine 10 minutes or so before making your espresso so that the group head and portafilter warm up completely. Otherwise you lose some heat when the shot is pulling.
I take about the same amount of time, and watching this made me realize why my wife gets so annoyed watching, and waiting for me to get the hell out of her way in the kitchen. I should play this music and draw it out even longer next time. Maybe wear a top hat.
I really enjoyed this, I love the whole ritual of it. The music too made it very relaxing. I bet it tasted wonderful
Don’t you warm up the portafilter? (Just pull an empty shot)
A few things did throw me off. No machine preheat? Just raw dogging that mf. And I didn’t realize people start the timer on the first drops? Wouldn’t you start the moment you press the button to account for pre-infusion/the brew process as a whole?
What are you wearing?
your timer should start the second you hit the extraction button, not when the first drops are coming out after pre infusion
more of these…so happy
You take 8 mins to make a flat white, including all extra steps possible, but pour it into a cold cup?
I have the same portafilter as you. Are you using the basket that came with it? Also o think I’ve got the same tamper but mine doesn’t click?
That was a test for the attention span.
Gekoloniseerd
😴
Masterpiece
Awesome to see you taking your time and enjoying the process. Now enjoy your Flat White!
slow is smooth and smooth is fast!
Great video! What camera are you using please?
lol all that shit and u arent using a separate grinder?
Lmao, that spritz of water that wasn’t anywhere close to the beans sent me
I’m left with so many questions. Why were you WDT’ing for half a century? Why did you level it for a decade? Why did you tamp it twice? AND WHY DID YOU BANG THE UNSTEAMED MILK ON THE TABLE?
My head hurts from watching this
JUST MAKE THE COFFEE ALREADY!! 😂
