Very good but not great. Overall I enjoyed dinner at Huso. The restaurant is beautiful and the plating is superb. The first half was excellent, but it went downhill with the last meat dish, a wagyu wellington, and the desserts. Service was excellent. We didn’t do the caviar or white truffle supplements. The course in the kitchen was a nice touch.

  1. Went like a month before they earned their star and was unimpressed but knew they’d probably still get the star for the sheer amount of Michelin “bingo card” ingredients. Very little stood out/worth remembering

I kind of agree with this, although I had a really good time and would go again. First half is very strong and the plating is impeccable, one of the best I have ever seen. Beautifully designed as well.

Wow, I was there the very same night!  Had the same menu.  Couldn’t agree more with your assessment.  First half of the dinner, and you’re thinking, oh my, this is ambitious.  These guys might be trying for more than one star soon.  But the menu does lose some steam, and my squab was under, tasting a bit bloody on the palate.

Beautiful plating but most of what I’ve read says the flavors aren’t very deep. So, unless they fix that I don’t want to waste the trip

    Enjoyed the photography though!

I have a very soft spot for Huso – ate there after my wedding and again last year during the collab with Melissa King – and yet I have to agree with you. All very good food, much of it technically perfect, but it’s “standard” fine dining, not truly memorable or mind blowing. He’s still so early in his career so hopefully that changes. I’m rooting for him!
