Used a meatstick V wireless thermometer on this one. Kinda cool watching the temp climb. Pulled it a few degrees early, let it rest, then sliced. Turned out pretty damn good.
I only cook every other weekend, but meat stick been easy to use and hasn’t let me down so far. Might grab a couple more probes when I start doing bigger cuts

More steak.
A nice bourbon pour and some asparagus
Knife and fork
A loaded baked potato
Garlic mash and broccolini or asparagus!
I mean, seems like it’s a little late to plan & cook sides
Something green with an acidic dress/flavor and a starch is my usual go to.
Hot, dry skillet, add broccoli. Char, then add butter, soy, lemon, and season to taste.
Roasted fingerling taters with garlic, onion, thyme, and rosemary.
Baked potato and Caesar salad
Baked potato and some grilled asparagus
Charred broccoli
Honestly I’m not gonna do much with a good steak sides wise. Salad or steamed veggies, and a dinner roll to sop up the steak juices….
Garlic mash & asparagus
Sweet potatoes and French bread
Smashed potatoes and roast broccoli
Collard greens and macaroni and cheese
A red wine with lots of tannins. Prob a really fresh light salad.
Scalloped potatoes
How did you cook this?
Glass potatoes and broccolini
Fries, Salad, and a beer.
Steakhouse standards…Lyonnaise potatoes, roasted mushrooms, creamed spinach, corn with bacon, roasted asparagus, sliced beef steak tomatoes with balsamic and blue cheese, shoestring fries with aioli, baby arugula dressed with balsamic and shaved parm…
Kraft dinner
Cold beers?
The good news with ribeye I always love an arugula salad. And for heavy side, I really like either a mac & cheese or scalloped potatoes. Both are relatively easy to whip up and don’t distract too much from when I’m making the steak.
Looks delicious and mouth watering 😋
A napkin.
Bacon wrapped jalapeños stuffed with cream cheese
Sauteed broccolini.
Sausage holdover and macaroni
Potatoes- Mashed or baked. Red wine- Cab, Merlot, or Pinot Noir. Then a nice pour of bourbon for dessert.
Some chimichurri to cut through the richness and maybe a nice mash on the side.
Fries and asparagus
How do you manage to only cook every other weekend?
Salt on the left side, pepper on the right.
My spousal advice. 🤫
I’m a fan of cheesy bacon potatoes and green beans
Baked potatoes and asparagus.
Cabernet tomato quick sauce and bourbon
Baked potato, creamed spinach. Glass of burgundy. Crème brûlée for dessert.
Sounds like microwave veggies for you at this point 😂
I’d have figured out the dudes I needed to start cooking before the steak even hit the grill.
I would have probably made the sides before the steak was cooked… 😆
