Anyone know what sauce bases are used in the tofu stir fry from Deedees? I love it..but at $20 for a box of vegetables and rice..thats not sustainable for nlme.

Leona Cafe so peaceful but damn so expensive, $8.50 for a bacon egg and cheese taco! No thanks

It’s probably oyster sauce, soy sauce, golden mountain sauce, maybe some fish sauce.

I started making my own Asian food bc this town can’t or charges an arm and a leg. Buy the sauces and build up over time. They are cheap and found everywhere.

I get this all the time and the dish alone is not $20 lol

It’s just oyster sauce, fish sauce, and dark soy sauce. I do 4 parts oyster, 2 parts fish and 1 part dark soy sauce.
For the pad kaprow you grind garlic and pepper together into a paste for aromatics.

Yeah the new Deedee doesn’t hit like the truck did and it’s noticibly more expensive.
Leona Cafe is in general a no from me, dawg. I’ll grab a coffee before the crowds descend on it but that’s about it.

I bought the Night + Market Thai cookbook a couple of years ago and it unlocked all the mysteries of Thai food.
