I’ve been a fan of Cholula for a very long time and most of the things she puts out I like. The OG is what got me into Mexican sauces and Valentina and all that sort of stuff.

I thought this might be the answer to Tabasco bringing out the hot, but it just tastes chemically to me even though it’s not chemicals.

something I don’t like about it and it I can’t put my finger on it.

  1. It tastes different than regular Cholula? I assumed it tasted pretty much the same but was just spicier. Personally Cholula Sweet Habanero is one of my all time favs. It’s not as good as Tabasco’s Hab but it’s close.

If you enjoy the regular Cholula I don’t understand what you were looking for in this sauce. It’s just the same sauce with a higher concentration of peppers in it. It’s nothing amazing, but it’s just a spicier Cholula. No different ‘chemical’ flavors that I can discern, and if it’s between this and base tabasco I’m picking this. There are much better sauces from Tabasco, (I like their scorpion and ghost pepper Melinda’s).

Now for sure they’re over-diluted, vinegar-forward sauces, but this is just a better version of the base Cholula.

I was actually surprised with the heat. You do not need to douse your pizza in this. Be much gentler, no need to finish your pizza after you kill your pizza with extra hot cholula.
