Tasting menus get a bit of a bad rap in this city. The overarching stereotype is that they’re too expensive, overly fussy, and they don’t even satisfy your appetite! But one London eatery is here to change up that reputation with a tongue-in-cheek new tasting menu that highlights their popular wares. None other than Italian gelato vendors, Badiani, are here to delight London’s foodies with a gelato tasting menu.
The Florentine gelato brand has brought back its popular wine and gelato nights, with a special 6-course tasting menu offering that explores both sweet and savoury gelato flavours. And some of them have never even been served in the UK before! Needless to say, some of the flavours are going to be pretty wild.
For now, there are gelato tasting menu events planned for Wednesday, February 18 and Wednesday, March 18, both at 7pm. The meals will take place at Badiani’s Chelsea location. But we’ve got our fingers crossed that they’ll be announcing more dates for the future. After all, imagine a 6-course gelato tasting menu in the height of summer; it would be pure bliss!

Now, this isn’t simply a night where guests are served six scoops of gelato. Instead, each course of the meal includes bites of food with gourmet gelato and a paired wine. It might not be as substantial as a Sunday Roast, but it’s set to be a far sight more filling than just a few scoops of ice cream.
During the night, guests will go on a journey, from starter to dessert, across Italian flavours. Expect everything from fresh Tomato and earthy Olive Patè to rich and aromatic Cacio e Pepe. There will even be a Salami dish! The whole thing will then round off with a sparkling Sgroppino cocktail, which mixes together gelato with sparkling wine for a bright, zesty finish to the evening.
